Nahrie’s Approach

As a Black woman and BIPOC therapist, my approach to therapy is grounded in cultural humility, recognizing the unique experiences and challenges that arise from navigating multiple identities in a world often shaped by systemic oppression. I integrate a trauma-informed lens to ensure that healing is approached with sensitivity, acknowledging the impact of historical and generational trauma while creating a safe, affirming space for growth. I believe in a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, where clients are empowered to participate actively in their therapeutic journey.

My communication style is calm, personable, and supportive, fostering a trusting environment for open dialogue. I use an integrative approach based on trauma-informed care, drawing from existential, person-centered, and solution-focused theories to address the complexities of each individual’s experience. My work emphasizes empowerment, resilience, and the importance of centering each individual's experiences. Together, we can work to unpack the layers of stress, trauma, and emotional burdens, empowering you to reclaim your sense of self and well-being.

Who Am I?

I am a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) passionate about helping individuals navigate their personal journeys toward healing and growth. My passion for this work stems from my hands-on experience within the community, where I’ve worked directly with individuals facing various life challenges. I have substantial experience working in juvenile court and child welfare, where I’ve supported vulnerable populations in navigating complex systems while addressing trauma, legal, and social issues. Throughout my career, I’ve become accustomed to working with diverse minority communities, understanding their unique struggles, and tailoring my approach to meet their needs with empathy, cultural humility, and respect. My commitment is to support and empower clients through a collaborative, individualized therapeutic approach that fosters healing and resilience.
