Feeling Lost

Online Therapy For Life Transitions & More In California and Oregon

I feel lost & uncertain.

As I sat in my empty apartment, surrounded by boxes and feeling overwhelmed, I realized that I was in the midst of a major life transition. I had just experienced a significant loss, and it was time to move on to the next chapter of my life. But I wasn't sure what that next chapter would look like, and I felt lost and alone.

At that moment, I realized that I needed help. I needed someone to talk to, someone who had been through a similar transition and could offer me guidance and support in a truly objective way. I realized the crossroads. I felt like a billion mixed-up emotions and thoughts, and my inside was as cluttered with debris as my home. I remember a friend once telling me about their therapy and how it helped them when they were going through it, so I decided I would begin to reach out and find a space that was just for me. A therapy space that would safely hold me as I moved through this current phase of my life.

I found someone who could deeply listen and be with me as I poured out my fears and uncertainties. They reminded me that it was okay to feel lost and unsure and that everyone goes through periods of transition and change. They offered me practical advice when needed, witnessed the rollercoaster of my current circumstances, and gave me the emotional support I needed to keep moving forward.

Looking back, I'm grateful for the support I received during that time. It wasn't always easy, but I learned that it's okay to ask for help when you need it and that there are people out there who want to see you succeed. Because of these experiences and many others, Kinship therapists work very hard to create these safe spaces because we know what it is like to move through hard things and the importance of safety and comfort during life transitions.
